Vet Assistant

Santa Fe Animal Shelter is seeking an experienced Vet Assistant level 1 or 2 to join our great organization! Experience in spay/neuter surgery, animal handling, phlebotomy, immunology, parasitology, endocrinology & pharmacology required. Completion of Vet Assistant program preferred. Able to work independently in a fast paced environment; strong computer and great people skills needed. Full-time, great benefits!

Animal Care Tech- Full time

Our most important job--taking care of our animals homes! Responsible for the cleaning and caring of all animals housed in the shelter. Perform kennel, cage & holding area monitoring/cleaning throughout the day, along with general janitorial duties. When needed, assist in euthanasia and run work related errands. Must be able to communicate in English effectively. Need ability to regularly transport approximately 55 pounds; tolerate odor, noise, allergens and cleaning chemicals. Must possess a valid New Mexico driver’s license. Previous experience in animal behavior, animal handling preferred. Sat/Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed 8am-5pm. $9.50/hour to start plus full benefits.
