Pets of the Week

Sara
Sara is a sweety who needs a loving home. She is 7 years old and would do best as an only cat. She would appreciate a quiet home with a steady routine to give her a sense of security.

Snow Queen
Snow Queen is a cat lovers dream. She is the quiet, independent type. Experienced adult adopters would be best. She is looking for a calm quiet home to call her own.

Tanja
Tanja is a lovable special needs dog. She has impaired vision and will need an owner who can be home with her or able to take her with them, especially during her developmental stages. She is a very sweet dog and has no trouble walking on leash.

Spicy
Spicy is a great feline. She is affectionate yet independent. She does require a special diet to help control her blood sugar but it is only slightly more expensive than good quality regular cat food. Spicy has been with us since September of 2009 and is anxious to find an owner who will give her the love and caring she deserves.

About Adoptions

If you have made the careful decision to bring a companion animal into your life, chances are that SFAS&HS has a dog, cat, kitten, puppy, ferret, rabbit, guinea pig, or other fuzzy critter that will match your home and lifestyle.

Matchmaking is an important part of our adoption process, and we pride ourselves on helping hopeful animal lovers find a companion that will fit their lifestyle. Think about how much time you have to spend with a new animal. Think about the time involved: a healthy puppy can live for 15 to 20 years! Remember that settling in a new four-legged family member can take some time and adjustment. Bear in mind that just like us, your companion animal will need food and supplies and have to visit a doctor from time to time.

We invite you to visit our animals in the shelter, at our satellite adoption facility inside PetsMart (3561 Zafarano Drive) or online. Once you have an idea what you’re looking for, one of our adoption counselors will visit with you and share some ideas about which of our residents would be best suited to you.

All animals are spayed or neutered and microchipped before leaving and receive the required age-appropriate vaccines. The required licenses for city and county residents are available at the shelter as you adopt!

Adoption is a partnership between the adopter, the shelter and the animal. We are committed to making that partnership work for everyone.
